yogurt and fruit parfaits

Dear Syracuse University Parents,

Welcome to campus! At SU Food Services we understand that good nutrition and good study habits go hand-in-hand. We want to make sure your student gets the best of both by providing a wide selection of food in our dining and a la carte areas.

The convenience of a meal plan means your student will have more time to concentrate on their activities at Syracuse University. We offer extended service hours at three of our dining centers so students with later classes and activities are able to get their evening meal.

With your student’s meal plan, they have the flexibility of eating in any of our five dining centers located throughout north campus. Students living on south campus can use their meal plan at Goldstein Dining and at any of the dining centers. Students who have classes at the Warehouse downtown may also use their meal plan during residential dining hours.

The dining centers all serve the same menu, allowing us to provide consistent, safe, quality foods. Students tend to favor one dining center over another because they enjoy the atmosphere or it is close to their classes or residence hall. We recommend students to try all the dining centers to see which locations they prefer.

In our all-you-care-to-eat dining centers students are encouraged to try new foods. We suggest they take a small portion of a new item and get more if they like it. Since college life is a time for experimenting and growing, students find that they are more willing to eat new foods and find out that they like them.

Our menu committee works hard to make sure there are many healthy, tasty food choices available. We are open to your suggestions. If you have a recipe that you would like to share, please send it to

We are looking forward to meeting you and your student. To address the many questions parents have regarding college meal plans, we have created our FAQ link. Most likely your questions have been asked before. This is a quick way to get answers to standard questions. However we are always willing to personally address your concerns and appreciate the chance to speak with you. See the contact information to get in touch with us, or just ask! Our managers are there to help you.

Have a great year!
